BARS will be representing the many gays and lesbians who were killed alongside the 6 million Jews.

This is BARS big spring concert, and we want to share the haunting sounds and stories, by playing these instruments. We want to inspire our community and never forget the tragic loss of the many gay and lesbian people who perished alongside the 6 million Jews. Therefore we will be performing a piece by lesbian composer Ethel Smyth, Boatswain’s Mate Overture, as well as Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony. We will not forget the tragic devastating loss of these precious lives, but we will lift them up and celebrate their lives thru music! This event will raise awareness in our community, of a tragedy that is fading in their minds and hearts. We celebrate the joy of music and the joy the people once had, when playing these instruments, by performing Interplay for 3 Violins, by Chris Brubeck.
